【silent】Silent Hill 3 | A Complete History and Retrospective

I never had headphones when I played these games years ago, but hearing it all clearly from your videos proves the sound design here is absolutely INSANE.

Heather was the best Silent Hill protagonist because she had a lot o personality, with a lot of comments and observations whenever she interacts with items or the environment.
The game was also way creepier with the death traps, with a lot of rooms outright killing Heather if interacted incorrectly. It raised the uneasy feeling of pushing forward into the game.

“On the hard difficulty, some knowledge of Shakespeare is actually required."
Hah! So my BA in English Lit _wasn’t_ completely worthless! I’m gonna solve this puzzle so good, I’m…
Oh god… college was twenty years ago. I don’t remember a goddamn thing about Shakespeare.

So glad SH3 is getting in recent days all the recognition it deserves, it’s usually overlooked and overshadowed by part two by most fans.

Hey there! I’ve been going through an SH rabbithole lately and not only are your videos one of the more interesting ones I’ve come across so far, but it is a pure delight that you get such detailed retrospectives out so fast! Also, I love listening to your voice! 10/10 content! You’ll reach 20k in no time! you did good, son!

I get such a cosy feeling when I see a lengthy SH video I haven’t seen before. It’s been decades and these games still have such an impact on me. Thank you for this ride through memory lane

As a lady, am I the mom or…?
Anyway. Amazing video there son!
I was 15 or 16 when I first played this game. Almost the same age as Heather. And the amounts of symbolism of adolescence and femininity hit me in a different way at that time. And it still does in a way. The insanely bloody red atmosphere, the hole-like shapes you go through, the constant reminder of birthing something…
And Akira Yamaoka was very much included in the whole making of this game and the game feels like his own screwed up, scary musical.
I’m more of a Silent Hill 2 fan for the story, but Silent Hill 3 was the game that I always felt a connection with.

You just keep producing absolute bangers. So proud of you, my son. Never give up on your dreams. Now, let’s go get ice cream, champ.

This is my favorite silent hill I can’t tell you how excited I was to see your take on it, well done son 👍🏻 another wonderful video!

I love how this game includes fears that women tend to feel on there day to day to fit the female protagonist, silent hill adapts to who’s in it and it dose so in ways that can be hard to pick up on at times but oh god is it affective. I might be thinking of the wrong scene but I remember one scene where Heather get pushed by train tracks and I never realised that that was a common fear for women before I saw more people talk about it. this video doesn’t alway pick up on those feeling that the game so perfectly displays however you did a great job on picking up on things I never noticed, thank you for letting me see this game in even more detail than before 🙂
